Senator Galgiani’s Final Swearing In
The Senator looks towards consumer protection, housing, infrastructure, public safety, job creation.
SACRAMENTO—State Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) was sworn in today as the Senator for the 5th District, which encompasses Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and Sacramento counties.
“I am honored that the constituents of the 5th SD have put their faith in me and are allowing me to finish my last four years as their senator, advocating on issues unique to the Central Valley, stated Galgiani, “I look forward to collaborating with stakeholders on water, housing, small business, CEQA, economic, and public safety issues.”
Galgiani’s political career spans over a decade, serving in the Senate since 2012. Prior to that, she served as the Assemblymember for the 17th Assembly District, which included San Joaquin and Merced counties.
The 2017 Legislative Session began today with swearing in new and returning members of both the Assembly and the Senate. “I had the pleasure of officially opening communication between the Senate and the Governor by introducing Senate Resolution 5. Our legislative body stands ready to protect California’s values, economy, and people.”
The Legislature reconvenes January 4, 2017.
