McNerney Introduces Legislation to Expand Incentives for Green Projects
State Sen. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, has introduced legislation to increase funding for a tax-incentive program designed to encourage California manufacturers to invest in environmentally friendly projects and technologies.
“SB 86 will ensure that California continues to incentivize green projects, while also boosting the state’s clean energy sector,” McNerney said. “Plus, the bill will help California become a national leader in fusion energy, a potential game-changing clean technology.”
SB 86 would extend the program, known as the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority Act, indefinitely and would increase available funding from $100 million to $300 million annually. It would also expand the program to include nuclear fusion projects.
