California Senator McNerney Speaks at Town Hall in Dublin
State Senator Jerry McNerney held his first Tri-Valley town hall meeting in Dublin on Aug. 6, during which he laid out top issues affecting the Tri-Valley that he plans to address in the coming year.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure and clean energy were specifically highlighted in a series of bills the senator has either backed or helped draft. They are currently making their way through the state legislature.
These include SB 833: AI in Critical Infrastructure; SB 813: Third-Party Standards for AI; and SB 787: Industrial Policy and Equitable Clean Energy Supply Chains.
“AI is a force that’s coming upon society in an aggressive way, and my priority is to protect our communities throughout this process,” McNerney said at the Shannon Event Center. “One of my biggest concerns is the possibility of it displacing jobs and leading to unemployment. These AI bills will set a standard for regulation across the nation.”
