Labor leaders call for action on artificial intelligence

State Sen. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, has reintroduced the idea as Senate Bill 947. The former congressman said his new bill includes changes that address the governor’s concerns with SB 7.

McNerney said employers are increasingly using automated decision-making systems to terminate workers — which he said has led to mistaken firings and other errors.
